One of our German members asks if this kind of house jack is familiar to Americans? "Wooden lifting device which consists of a base board and a bearing board connected by two thick screws. The screws can be turned by clamping bolts to change the distance between base and bearing board. Mainly used
for lifting buildings or parts of a building."
